Pricing & quotes
How much does stump grinding cost in Lutz, FL?
Most residential stumps in the Lutz / Tampa Bay area run $95–$400 depending on diameter, root flare, gate access, and how many stumps are on the job. We give firm written quotes — no hourly surprises.
How much does tree removal cost?
Tree removal runs from a few hundred dollars for small palms to $2,000+ for large hazard oaks over a house. Pricing depends on size, lean, access, debris handling, and whether crane support is needed. We quote in writing before any work begins.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes — every quote is free, written, and there's no obligation to book. Most quotes are returned the same day.
Do you charge a service-call fee?
No service-call fee for residential quotes inside our regular service area (Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas).
Stump grinding & removal
How deep do you grind?
Standard depth is 6–12 inches below grade — deep enough to lay sod, reseed, or plant new landscaping. We can grind deeper for slabs, footers, or replanting trees on request.
What's the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?
Grinding chews the stump down below grade and leaves the root system in place — fast, low-impact, ideal for cosmetic and lawn restoration. Full stump removal extracts the entire root ball — slower and more invasive, but necessary for pools, foundations, driveways, or replanting in the same hole.
Will my grass grow back over the stump?
Yes — once we grind 6–12 inches below grade and either backfill or replace with topsoil, you can lay sod or seed. We can rake the wood chips into the hole as a free amendment, or haul them off — your call.
Will you damage my lawn?
We use plywood and turf mats on heavy passes and the smallest practical grinder for each job. Minor wheel impressions are typical, but we leave the site raked clean and ready to use.
Do you grind palm stumps?
Yes. Palm root balls are softer than hardwood but bigger, so they take a bit longer. We handle them all — sabal, queen, royal, washingtonia.
Tree removal & trimming
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Pasco, Hillsborough, or Pinellas County?
Each county has its own rules around protected species (e.g., grand trees, mangroves). For most dead, dying, or hazard trees no permit is needed, but we'll confirm before we cut. Florida statute 163.045 also limits permit requirements for documented hazards.
Do you handle emergency tree calls 24/7?
Yes. Trees on houses, vehicles, or blocking access — call us any time. We work hard through Florida storm season.
What's the best time to trim trees in Florida?
Late winter through early spring for most hardwoods, before the major growth flush. Palms can be trimmed year-round, but after fronds turn brown is best.
Will trimming hurt my tree?
Done right, trimming makes a tree stronger. We follow ISA pruning standards — never topping, never over-thinning. The wrong cut at the wrong time is what kills trees.
